Irregular verbs bingo

Students usually hate studying irregular verbs and being asked in class about them. However, with this Bingo game, they love practising them! It is played as a common Bingo: each student has a card with irregular verbs written on it and they have to try to cross all verbs out according to what the teacher says.

This document, includes 30 different irregular verbs bingo cards and an empty template to create your own Bingo game. This game can be used not only for practising irregular verbs, but anything you can think of: vocabulary, pronunciation, minimal pairs, and so on. That is why I include the empty template.

Therefore, you can adapt the game to your class' level, so many possibilities may come out:

  • The teacher says outloud the past and participle of a verb and each student crosses out the infinitive they come from.
  • The teacher only says the past or the participle of irregular verbs and they cross the infinitive out.
  • The teacher says the translation of those verbs in the students' mother tongue and they cross the English verb out.
  • The student who crosses all the words out wins (after checking that all of them have been said outloud by the teacher)
  • The student wins if they have all the words crossed out and say the 3 forms of each verb (infinitive, past and present participle)

As you can see, it can be easily adaptable to any level, so you can use it in different lessons and groups.

Hope you and your students enjoy it! Mine did!
